Mentoring Leadership Success
The new Country Manager, Spain & Portugal of this Valve company recognised that his team had issues. Sales prospects were below expectation, morale and trust were low. The manager recognised that he needed help, to more effectively communicate with his senior colleagues, gain the trust of his team and stimulate growth.
Michael successfully mentored the Country Manager, with the support of an engagement survey and assessment tool developed by Pyramid ODI. He facilitated the introduction of a project-based continuous improvement process, with the full involvement of the Sales and Distribution Team.
Morale, trust, engagement and communication increased as the team self-managed improvements. The sales
budget for the year was achieved. The manager has since increased his responsibilities, giving him wider recognition across the group.
Following the success of this assignment, Michael was then asked to mentor another senior manager in Switzerland. This Manager supports the implementation of a complex toll manufacturing project, requiring extensive stakeholder management.
A further assignment within the same group, this time in France, led to a 5-week assessment of a struggling manufacturing business. The recommendations arising from this are currently being reviewed by the client.
