Leadership Development in a Diverse, Multicultural Environment
Michael recently refreshed his certification to deliver “Situational Leadership® - The Core” and “The Leader as Coach”, as part of the roll-out of a seven-part leadership development programme in an international pharmaceutical company. This organisation included many acquired sites, each with its own leadership style and culture. Michael claims that “only the very best management techniques stand the test of time. Situational Leadership® is such a programme. It has expanded
over the years to include development and sales, and has been translated into many languages. It is now used by over 50% of the world’s leading companies.”
Michael was first trained in the delivery of the Hersey-Blanchard “Situational Leadership®” model while working in Monsanto. Ever since, he has practised this technique – from becoming their youngest supervisor to becoming the managing director of a global satellite telecommunications and systems integrator. Wherever Michael discovers a management performance issue he advises his clients to consider this technique and obtain the licence for its use.
Of course, the SHK team have developed and led many leadership development and management conferences, including modules on finance, communication, delegation, conflict, ethics, and performance.
This know-how has also been applied to acquisition due diligence in the chemical, retail and telecommunications sectors - management is a critical part of the evaluation of a business in terms of its resources, financial risk, cultural fit, leadership, performance and future contribution.
